A chemical peel uses carefully selected exfoliant acids to remove the outermost layers of skin, accelerating cell turnover, clearing congestion, and revealing fresher, brighter skin beneath. At DOSE, we use professional-grade peel formulations selected and applied by Brittni; tailored to your skin type, your concerns, and your tolerance. From gentle enzyme-based options to corrective acid blends, every peel is designed with precision and purpose.
How It Works
The treatment begins with a thorough cleanse and skin prep. Brittni selects a peel formulation based on your Fitzpatrick skin type, skin history, and treatment goal. The solution is applied in layers and left to work for a precise, timed period before neutralising and removal. A soothing, barrier-supporting aftercare protocol is applied to finish. The entire process is calm, controlled, and never rushed.

What to Expect
Peels at DOSE range from no-downtime brightening treatments to deeper corrective protocols with 3–7 days of peeling. Brittni will always recommend the most appropriate peel for your skin, never pushing stronger than necessary. You may experience mild warmth, tingling, or tightness during application; all normal and monitored throughout. Your aftercare kit and instructions are provided before you leave.
Sessions & Results
A single peel delivers noticeable brightening and refinement. For more corrective goals (pigmentation, acne, or ageing) a course of 3–6 peels spaced 3–6 weeks apart is recommended. Results build cumulatively. Skin looks its best approximately 5–10 days after treatment, once the natural exfoliation process is complete.
A Note on Skin Tone
Chemical peels require careful selection for medium to deeper Fitzpatrick skin tones (Fitzpatrick III–VI). Certain acids carry a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation on darker skin. At DOSE, Brittni's clinical training means peel strength, acid selection, and prep protocols are specifically adapted for your tone. We do not apply a standard peel to everyone, your Fitzpatrick type is assessed and documented before every treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my skin actually peel?
Not always visibly. Some peels cause no visible peeling at all, the exfoliation happens at a cellular level. Others produce light flaking over 3–5 days while some may result in shedding for up to 10 days. Brittni will let you know exactly what to expect from your chosen treatment.
Can I have a peel if I have active acne?
In many cases, yes — chemical peels can be one of the most effective treatments for acne-prone skin. The right acid selection can clear congestion, reduce inflammation, and brighten post-acne marks. Brittni will assess your skin and recommend accordingly.
How long is the downtime?
This depends entirely on the peel depth. Superficial peels have zero to minimal downtime. Mid-depth peels may involve 3–7 days of light flaking. You won't be social-media-scary — but you will need to avoid active exfoliation and sun exposure during healing.
Can I have a peel if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
Some peel ingredients are contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Please let Brittni know before your appointment so she can select a safe alternative for your situation.
How often should I get a chemical peel?
For maintenance, once every 6–12 weeks is typical. For a corrective course, 3–6 sessions spaced 3–6 weeks apart is common. Brittni will create a treatment plan based on your specific goals.
