LED Light Therapy

LED (light-emitting diode) therapy uses specific wavelengths of light energy to stimulate targeted biological responses within the skin. Different wavelengths penetrate to different depths and trigger different cellular processes. From collagen stimulation to bacterial reduction to inflammation control. It is painless, non-invasive, zero downtime, and scientifically supported. At DOSE, LED is used as both a standalone treatment and a powerful complement to skin needling, peels, and CoolJet™ sessions.
How It Works
LED devices emit specific wavelengths of light that are absorbed by chromophores (light-sensitive molecules) within the skin's cells. Red light (630–700nm) penetrates the dermis to stimulate fibroblast activity and collagen production. Near-infrared light (800–900nm) reaches deeper tissue to support cellular repair. Blue light (415nm) targets sebaceous glands and C. acnes bacteria, making it highly effective for acne. At DOSE, wavelength selection is based on your skin concerns and what you're being treated for that session.

What to Expect
LED treatment is one of the most relaxing experiences we offer. You'll lie comfortably under the LED device for 20–30 minutes while the light does its work. There is no sensation beyond gentle warmth. No numbing, no downtime, no recovery. Most clients find it deeply relaxing. It can be added onto any treatment or booked as a standalone session.
Sessions & Results
LED therapy is cumulative by nature. A single session delivers immediate benefits; improved radiance, reduced redness, and a sense of calm in the skin. For targeted goals, a course of 8–10 sessions 1–2 times per week is the gold standard, followed by monthly maintenance. As an add-on to other treatments, even a single LED session meaningfully enhances results and speeds recovery.
A Note on Skin Tone
LED therapy is safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types with no exceptions. There is no UV emission, no heat risk, and no pigmentation risk. It is one of the most universally accessible skin treatments available.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does LED therapy actually work?
Yes there is a strong body of peer-reviewed research supporting LED therapy for collagen stimulation, acne reduction, and wound healing. It is used in both cosmetic and medical settings worldwide.
How long is a session?
A standalone LED session takes approximately 20–30 minutes. As an add-on to another treatment, it adds around 20 minutes to your appointment time.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
LED is one of the best treatments for sensitive skin. It reduces inflammation, supports barrier function, and has a genuinely calming effect on reactive complexions.
Can I have LED while pregnant?
LED therapy is generally considered safe during pregnancy. However, please advise Brittni of your pregnancy status so she can confirm the most appropriate protocol for you.
How often should I have LED?
For a course of treatment, 1–2 sessions per week for 4–5 weeks is optimal. For maintenance, monthly sessions keep the benefits consistent. As an add-on, it can be done at every appointment.
